Round 6 of the South African National Motocross Championship headed to Ridgeway Raceway on 15 August 2026 for the penultimate round of the season, with valuable championship points on the line ahead of the final showdown in East London.
It was a chilly start to race day, with temperatures sitting at just 3°C in the early morning before climbing to a comfortable 21°C – making for a perfect winter's day of motocross racing.
The track, however, had a personality of its own! Riders were faced with wet and wild conditions during the morning sessions before the circuit transformed into a hard, dry-packed track as the afternoon progressed.
A strong field of 114 riders took to the gates across the classes, from the young 50cc competitors all the way through to the premier MX1 class, with everyone chasing those all-important championship points.
The racing was fast and furious throughout the day, with plenty of close competition, a few bumps and some good old-fashioned bar bashing along the way. Across the classes, riders put on a great show and gave spectators plenty of action to enjoy.

Pirelli Trackside Support
The Pirelli Tyre Change Service powered by BikeWise was once again on hand throughout the day, assisting riders with tyre changes and providing advice as the track evolved from wet morning conditions to a much harder surface later in the day.
The Pirelli MX32 Mid-Soft proved to be the tyre of choice, offering riders a versatile, well-rounded option for the changing track conditions experienced throughout the event.
With Round 6 now complete, all eyes turn to the final round of the National MX Championship at Wetherd MX Park in East London on 19 September 2026.
With championship titles still to be decided, the season finale promises plenty of action as the country's top riders battle for those final points – and the opportunity to head into 2027 wearing the National Championship crown.
