National MX Season Finale – Wetherd MX Park

National MX Season Finale – Wetherd MX Park

The 2026 South African National Motocross Championship headed to Wetherd MX Park in East London on 3 October for the final round of the season, with the last championship points up for grabs and titles still to be decided.

There was everything to race for, and the riders arrived ready to make the final round count.

Race day began under overcast skies with some light coastal rain in the morning before cloud cover settled in for the remainder of the day. The cooler conditions made for a great day of racing, while Shane and the Wetherd crew had the track beautifully prepared and ready for the season finale.

One Last Day of National MX Action

From the young riders in the 50cc class right through to the big guns in MX1, as well as the Ladies class, there was plenty to keep spectators entertained.

Close battles were mixed with some commanding victories, while holeshot bragging rights added another incentive as riders gave it everything for one final National MX outing of 2026.

After a full season of racing, it was great to see riders across the classes enjoying one last day in the saddle before the championship drew to a close.

Pirelli Trackside for the Finale

The Pirelli Tyre Change Service powered by BikeWise was once again trackside, providing tyre changes, advice and support throughout the day.

The Pirelli MX32 Soft was the tyre of choice for the conditions, rounding off a season that has seen the Pirelli service supporting riders at National MX events throughout the country.

As the 2026 National MX season comes to an end, we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the Pirelli Tyre Change Service during the year – from factory teams and independent riders to mechanics and everyone who stopped by during a race weekend.

It's been a fantastic season of motocross, and we've loved being there alongside you.

Congratulations to all the 2026 champions, and we'll see you back at the track for another season of racing in 2027! 🏁
