Ridgeway Raceway (Chestnut) hosted a full day of motocross action on 11 July 2026, welcoming both the Northern Interprovincial Motocross Championship and the Inland Championship to the Gauteng circuit.
The day began before sunrise, with riders and pit crews arriving in freezing winter conditions. Temperatures dipped to just 2°C during the early morning setup, but the cold did little to dampen the enthusiasm as competitors prepared for a full day of championship racing. The BikeWise and Pirelli Tyre Service team was on hand from the start, assisting riders with tyre selection, technical advice, and tyre changes before the racing commenced.
As the day progressed, the weather improved to a pleasant 19°C, creating ideal racing conditions. Riders travelled from across the country, including competitors from as far afield as Ladybrand, all eager to secure valuable championship points.
A professionally prepared circuit set the stage for exciting competition across eight classes, from the 50cc juniors through to the premier MX1 category, including the ever-competitive Ladies Class. Every gate drop saw riders chasing the all-important holeshot, while changing track conditions throughout the day produced close racing and fierce battles in every moto.
With excellent track preparation, strong rider participation, and exciting racing from start to finish, Ridgeway Raceway once again delivered a successful championship event.
