WPMC at Killarney – 30 May 2026

The Western Province Motorcycle Club (WPMC) race meeting at Killarney on 30 May 2026 was blessed with excellent weather conditions, providing riders with a dry circuit, manageable winds, and ideal conditions for fast lap times throughout the day.

The positive conditions translated into strong performances across the board, with many riders reporting personal best lap times and leaving the event with smiles on their faces. The atmosphere in the paddock was upbeat, with competitors enjoying both the racing and the opportunity to push their limits on track.

Among the standout performers were Kewyn Snyman, BikeWise's flagship rider across multiple brands, and newly appointed Arai athlete Tristan Pienaar. Having taken delivery of his new Arai RX-7V EVO helmets just a day before the event, Tristan was full of praise for the comfort, visibility, and aerodynamic performance of the helmet. After his first race weekend with Arai, he declared himself a fan for life.

Both Tristan and Kewyn delivered exceptional performances, setting personal best lap times of approximately 1:10.2 and 1:10.3 respectively. These times place them among the fastest riders at Killarney and bring them ever closer to challenging the long-standing lap record set years ago by Clinton Seller.

Feedback throughout the paddock was overwhelmingly positive regarding tyre performance, wear characteristics, and the growing understanding of tyre pressures among riders. When riders are consistently achieving personal bests, it is a strong indication that the right products, support, and setup advice are making a real difference.

Another inspiring performance came from Matthew Deuse, who continues to impress as an amputee racer competing at a high level. Recently moved up into one of the Superbike classes, Matthew has transitioned from riding exclusively on Bridgestone tyres to Pirelli. His feedback was extremely positive, describing the grip levels as exceptional and expressing how impressed he was with the overall performance of the tyres.

With strong rider performances, valuable rider support, prominent branding throughout the venue, and excellent feedback from competitors, the WPMC race meeting at Killarney was another successful event and a great showcase for the brands and products supporting South African motorcycle racing.
